Job Title: Tool Runner

Job Description

This position is called a Tool Runner. The role involves pulling orders and delivering supplies and tools to various construction sites in the local bay area that are working with PG&E. This is a warehouse puller position where you will be inside an industrial warehouse. You will be responsible for keeping inventory of tools in the warehouse as well as delivering various tools used in construction. You will be operating a computer to communicate via email and keeping track of inventory via Excel.

Responsibilities

Deliver tools to construction/job sites in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.

Follow principles of safety and PPE in handling tools and on a construction location.

Interact with customers to assure customer satisfaction.

Complete and perform side work and other duties as assigned.

Take initiative in daily tasks.

Keep inventory of tools in the warehouse.

Operate a computer to communicate through email and print out picking orders.

Pick and load orders onto a truck to be delivered to construction sites.

Operate a standard sit-down forklift to load heavy tools onto a truck.

Essential Skills

Basic knowledge about tools and the ability to identify hand and power tools.

Ability to operate a standard sit-down forklift.

Proficiency in operating a computer to communicate through email and manage inventory via Excel.

Ability to load and unload tools and supplies and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with tooling, inventory management, and driving.

Ability to operate Outlook for email communication.

Experience in loading and unloading trucks.

Forklift certification (can be obtained on the job).

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a big industrial warehouse where the rolling doors stay up, making it cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Be prepared for your clothes to get dirty and for delivering tools to construction sites. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM, with some flexibility for earlier shifts. The first day will involve setting up the time clock, forklift training, PG&E training, PPE issue, and a mentorship during the first week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
