Job Title: Cashier (Temporary Contract)

Schedule: 8am-4:30pm for Approx. 35 hours/week

Location: Onsite in Daly City

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cashier to support daily financial operations on a temporary basis. This role involves processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general clerical tasks within the Utility Billing Division.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and process cash payments; issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records.

Reconcile cash drawers and prepare daily cash reports for multiple City departments.

Post utility transactions and manage the Petty Cash Fund.

Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances and billing.

Issue parking permits and track pool car key usage and mileage.

Record and verify financial transactions; assist in compiling financial/statistical reports.

Support clerical functions including document preparation and data entry.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 1 year of clerical experience, including financial recordkeeping.

6+ months of cashiering and spreadsheet experience preferred.

Familiarity with financial clerical practices and office systems.

Proficient in using computers, office equipment, and basic financial software.

Ability to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and credit check.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail with quick and accurate arithmetic skills.

Able to adapt to procedural changes and prioritize under pressure.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Dependable, organized, and professional in handling sensitive financial data.
