Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

A manufacturing company specializing in premium labels is seeking a dedicated material handler to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate production and distribution of high-quality products.

Responsibilities

Read and understand job tickets and layouts to produce the correct product of the highest quality.

Understand and execute plan schedules accurately and promptly to maximize throughput.

Coordinate workflow closely with all associates.

Maintain performance metrics at average or greater levels.

Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.

Safely operate material moving equipment.

Assist in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments and preventative maintenance.

Enter information into systems for job tracking and payroll.

Dispose of waste materials into proper storage containers and identify containers with required documentation.

Comply with established facility safety policies and procedures, and other regulations (e.g., GMP, HAACP, BRC) as applicable.

Interact and behave professionally, treating all associates respectfully and maintaining the company code of ethics.

Maintain daily housekeeping efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 1.5 years experience within manufacturing or distribution.

Physically capable of performing all job tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.

Ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull, and use hands and fingers.

Ability to stoop, squat, crawl, and kneel as needed.

Ability to read and understand job tickets and measurements.

Vision correctable to 20/20, ability to differentiate colors, and ability to pass vision tests.

Ability to input data into the computer.

Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of tasks.

Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.

Ability to stand and move around press area for long periods of time.

Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Mechanically inclined.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Print shop experience helpful, but not required.

Ability to communicate and interact well with others in both verbal and written forms; seen as a team player.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Assertive and solution-focused.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.14 - $21.64/hr.
