Position Title: Senior Grain Finance & Accounting Professional Location: Remote Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. Expected Duration: 6 months contract Job Type: Full Time- contract- Remote Salary Range: $50ph - $60/ph Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Requirements: Grain Accounting commodities, or hedging SAP GAAP Supply Chain accounting Job Description: This role supports accounting operations related to sourcing, derivatives, inventory, and grain within the Global Accounting function. You will collaborate closely with Sourcing, Shared Services, and Finance teams to ensure accurate external financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, while also driving process improvements and control initiatives. Key Responsibilities Business Partnership Serve as the primary accounting expert for hedging, commodities, and grain operations across the North America sourcing network and applicable corporate departments. Work closely with sourcing buyers and grain merchandisers on daily commodity positions, inquiries, and strategic projects. Oversee daily hedge transaction processing and resolve issues within the Finance Shared Services team to ensure smooth operations. Drive accuracy in financial records and strengthen internal controls through close collaboration with business stakeholders. Support strategic projects that enhance accounting, reporting, and process excellence Accounting Functional Excellence: Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and relevant financial regulations. Oversee accounting processes and internal controls for hedging and commodity transactions, addressing control gaps and implementing sustainable solutions. Develop tools and training to promote consistency, efficiency, and appropriate accounting treatment across teams. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for both income statement and balance sheet accounts. Approve account reconciliations and journal entries, and assist in the preparation of financial statements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration 3-7 years of experience in Accounting and/or Financial Reporting Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally Proven ability to lead projects and drive process improvement High attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret large datasets Proficiency in English required SAP ERP experience preferred CPA or CMA certification preferred Experience with TriplePoint Trade System is a plus Supply Chain accounting experience is a plus Benefits: BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.
