SUMMARY
The Accountant III handles essential accounting duties for the parent
company and its subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This
role includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for
senior management, regulatory agencies, and external auditors. The
Accountant III also researches and responds to inquiries from examiners,
auditors, and management, and assists in developing reliable information
for regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and organized, with
broad and in-depth understanding of accounting principles and
proficiency in accounting software. Strong communication skills are
essential for interacting with senior management, auditors, and
regulatory bodies. A bachelor\'s degree in accounting or a related
field, along with relevant work experience, is preferred.
The Accountant III significantly impacts the company by maintaining

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Prepare and post the various entities activity, including cash
receipts, journal entries, general ledger transactions, cash
disbursements, and general ledger reconciliations, as well as all
required reports.
Ensure data entry and recording for various software programs,
including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable,
shareholder accounting, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, lease
accounting, 1099 and regulatory reports.
Maintain specialized accounting software and functions, such as
shareholder accounting, financial and budget, ACL, fixed asset
accounting, prepaid, lease accounting, customer deposits, regulatory
and 1099 preparation.
Trains new staff and mentors less experienced staff.
Processes and maintains assigned ad hoc or recurring journal entries
in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor various Fed and FDIC reporting requirements, rule changes,
and prepare or review the necessary reports, as well as track
changes in Accounting Standards.
Assist in the preparation of corporate stockholder processing.
Prepare the daily funds settlement process.
Assist with investment duties and activities as needed.
Prepare pledging requests and assist with various pledging related
functions.
Prepare or review various balance sheet account reconciliations.
Review bank deposits and perform reconciliation of accounts.
Support the accurate preparation and presentation of financial data
for monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory and financial reports.
Prepare and assist with various state and local reporting, including
annual reports, unclaimed property, and Tangible and Intangible tax
returns.
Design and build reporting structures and formats using various
software programs.
Assist with the budget process.
Maintain subsidiary schedules that support and reconcile to control
accounts or activities.
Assist with federal and state examination requests, as well as
internal and external audit inquiries.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax information.
Accurately key or scan document data into imaging equipment,
ensuring all information is properly filed, indexed and
cross-referenced through electronic means.
Ensure that electronic records are properly maintained, archived and
stored according to established policies and regulations.
Utilize strong communication skills to build and maintain positive
relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
Recommend and implement process improvements in areas of
responsibility.
Provide support to other members of the Accounting Department as
needed.
Assume responsibility for special projects and tasks as assigned.
