The BD Medication Management Solutions (MMS) Business Unit is a $3.4B unit within BD which creates and delivers solutions for end to end medication safety, inventory optimization, and clinician efficiency across the care continuum. Key brands include BD Pyxis, BD Alaris, Parata, BD ROWA and BD HealthSight. Our focus is on making the medication management simpler, safer and smarter.
Sr. Director Global MMS FP&A role reports directly to the VP of Finance for MMS business unit and has a strong linkage to MMS President. This critical role will be providing financial leadership to $3.5BB global business and is a key contributor to the MMS leadership group. The role is also responsible for MMS Global FP&A, MMS Global R&D Portfolio, MMS Excellence (Gross Margin improvement).
The Senior Director of ISC (Integrated Supply Chain) Finance is a critical role in the end-to-end supply chain management team. This position partners with the ISC, Commercial, and Regional leaders to control OCOS for the MMS business as well as providing guidance to other Medical/Life Sciences businesses on process/partnerships. This position also partners with the VP Finance for the business to ensure ISC strategies are reflected accurately in the P&L.
Responsibilities:
Financial Modeling and decision making (Make vs Buy, Site impacts, etc)
Accountable for successful budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for Other Cost of Sales
Executive-level reporting of OCOS results which requires leading with and without direct authority (strong partnership skills required)
Actively partner with ISC Global Business Services team on process design and internally with the ISC Finance Process Lead
Participate/lead Kaizen events and drive a culture of continuous improvement
Business partner to the various stakeholders within the ISC, Business, and Regions
Creates an open, inclusive environment for employees to grow and challenge themselves
Leader should create a culture of innovation; enabling teams to develop solutions to business problems and elevating those ideas that are successful to the broader group to achieve economies of scale
Ensures accounting treatments are accurate and adhere to GAAP - proactively engages the Controller organization for technical treatments where disagreement or uncertainty exists
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles
Plant site and headquarter visits, as required
Ad hoc support or special projects, as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance Required
MBA/ CPA/ CMA preferred
Operations Finance, Costing & Analysis background
7+ years of relevant accounting/FP&A experiences
5+ years of management experience
Previous experience within BDX ISC Finance preferred
Strong Financial systems and tools knowledge and utilization skills (HFM, SAP, JDE, BPC)
Advanced proficiency in Excel as demonstrated by previous experience creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) required
Previous ERP costing experience (SAP / JDE highly desirable) related to standard cost build-ups and work order variance analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Demonstrated ability to use logic, reasoning, and critical thinking in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Demonstrated ability to build credibility with and challenge stakeholders to drive initiatives and deliver high impact solutions to meet business needs.
Resilient and persistent when faced with obstacles
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks
Strong collaboration and demonstrated ability to establish relationships and build rapport with all stakeholders, and influence management through informed discussions and presentations
