Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only:
Two (2) years of relevant experience working in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Network devices or an occupation related to the work duties assigned to this position.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant ITS experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.
About the Work Unit
Under supervision, this position is responsible for standardization, documentation, training and performing all work associated with ITS device configuration. This includes configuration of ITS devices within the device and within the ITS Branch's systems and applications that connect to the device. Final standards will be approved by the NOC supervisor and implemented by this position. This position will document standard configuration requirements, processes to complete all configuration work and train NOC employees on configuration requirements and troubleshooting. This position will define, document, distribute, and review standardized device configuration methodology used by other CDOT groups to ensure compliance with security requirements are being implemented as a standard practice. This position will also troubleshoot device and application issues, ruling out configuration issues and escalating to other groups for continued troubleshooting if the device or system cannot be made functional. This position will be overseen and decisions reviewed for all procedures and standards by the NOC supervisor and other subject matter experts in the ITS Branch such as the Asset Manager and System Architect.
Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under supervision...
Identifies, documents, organizes, communicates and controls; software and hardware configuration changes of ITS infrastructure;
Tracks device configuration changes through workflows within the Managed Engine Service Desk (MESD) and other processes;
Works with supervisor to identify and eliminate roadblocks or process issues on change requests; tracks change requests through workflows established by this position or by working closely with other branch positions;
Ensures all ITS systems and applications follow formally established policies and procedures from OIT. Including submitting system & network changes to the ITS change advisory boards, or other CABs when applicable, including ensuring security scans on configuration templates are completed in compliance with security requirements, working closely with the Technology Unit:
Troubleshoots and document solutions for complex electronic failures that NOC personnel and Field Operations Supervisors are unable to repair;
Troubleshoots device configuration issues and escalate appropriately to resolve incidents;
Other job duties as assigned;
Work Environment:
Your schedule will primarily be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
