Software Engineer 2

BTS Software Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer 2to perform computer science analysis in support of military operations. This opportunity is for an upcoming award expected May 2025.

Job Description:

Works on a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software, encompassing techniques and procedures often regulated by a software development process with the purpose of improving the reliability and maintainability of software systems. Establishes software information and engineering requirements which is necessitated by the potential complexity of those software systems, which may contain millions of lines of code. Applies the discipline of software engineering for specific technical problems and procedures, including knowledge, tools, and methods for software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks. Relates the software engineering disciplines to computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering. Work may take place at contractor site, Government site, or a combination of the two.

Primary Location: Fort Eustis Virginia or Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

Clearance Requirement: UNCLEARED

Degree Requirement:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

Relevant Experience:

The ability to execute software engineering disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.

Education and Experience:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum 5 years of experience in a wide range of technologies and languages such as Enterprise Architecture, Object Oriented Programming (Java/.Net), Webservices (SOAP/REST), Relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres), Web Development (JavaScript, HTLML/CSS, AngularJS, ReactJS), Cloud Deployments (MilCloud/AWS/Azure), Agile/SCRUM development. Meets or be able to meet certification and training requirements defined in DoD 8570.01. Must be a US Citizen.

Pay Range: $135,000-$155,000

The BTS pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
