CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer III opening for our client in New York .

Overview:
Provides design, specifies information systems solutions, and offers the highest-level technical direction in developing new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Acts as a principal application designer for critical components and major modifications, effectively applying analytical and technical skills, technology, and tools to meet client requirements and improve business processes. Provides technologically sound solutions and frequently leads and monitors the work of less experienced personnel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete and oversee the most complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts
Lead and contribute as an individual on high-impact projects
Deliver expert-level consulting and leadership to identify and implement advanced information technology solutions
Coordinate and direct tasks for junior resources across projects of varying scopes
Prepare and manage technical components of project plans
Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology staff from analysis to user acceptance testing
Develop and execute test plans, debug and resolve defects
Analyze complex interrelationships among programs and systems
Produce clear technical/functional specs, update system documentation, and review peer documentation
Conduct detailed assessments including scope, timeframes, and resource effort
Recommend improvements in technology, processes, or policies
Lead or participate in evaluations of vendor software
Uphold and promote development standards and procedures
Maintain expert-level knowledge of supported applications and environments
May assist with budget planning and expense management
Understand and follow company risk and regulatory policies
Foster a diverse, inclusive, and compliant work environment
Perform related duties and contribute to strategic initiatives as needed
Scope of Responsibilities:
Works under supervision of Technology management
Independently handles high-level systems analysis and development activities
Frequently leads project efforts and mentors junior staff
May evaluate staff performance on project deliverables
Interacts with senior stakeholders, clients, and external vendors
May serve as a technical representative on committees or cross-functional projects
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Guides and mentors junior developers
Assigns project tasks and reviews work
Provides performance feedback related to project deliverables
Education and Experience Required:
Associate's degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or 8 years combined education/work experience including 6 years in systems analysis and/or application development
5+ years of experience coding with Jack Henry Sweeps (formerly Agiletics) - required
Strong experience with COBOL programming
Hands-on experience with systems integration and testing
Familiarity with application development platforms and relevant software
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills
Experience with cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership
Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement systems solutions
History of mentoring and leading project teams
Education and Experience Preferred:
Understanding of the Bank's application framework
Subject matter expertise in business and application functionality
Advanced knowledge of system integrations
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience balancing multiple components in complex projects
Proven ability to contribute outside typical BAU scope
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00/hour to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
