Medical Assistant Opening -- South County Rhode Island

13 week contract

Monday-Friday -- 8am-4:30pm

$28/hour

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and assisting with procedures.

Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed by a physician, and collect/prep specimens for testing.

Assist with patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Sterilize medical instruments and ensure exam rooms are clean and well-stocked.

Administrative Duties:

Schedule patient appointments, manage patient records, and handle billing and coding for insurance purposes.

Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.

Coordinate with other healthcare providers and facilities to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.

Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role.

Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
