Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Detroit Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Selfridge AF Base, MI. Responsibilities In this position you will plan and carry out a wide variety of mission support, budgetary, administrative research, and program planning activities related to the missions and functions of the Mission Readiness Operations Division. This position starts at a salary of $81,556.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $127,082.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $127,082 (GS-12 Step 10). In this Mission Support Specialist (Finance) position, you will perform reviews and analysis of budget, management, training, logistics, procurement, and all other areas of mission support resources in support of the Division. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Processing and analyzing data obtained from financial reports; Calculating projections to ensure adequate funding is allocated to cover expenses; Projecting future expenses and new requirements to complete annual budget submission; Ensuring funds are available and processes for payments; briefing management and recommending solutions to budgetary issues. Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Applying and modifying established practices to specific budgetary problems involving many variables. Developing and/or implementing procedures and practices to cover multiple budgetary objectives. Providing financial oversight, to include budget formulation and execution.
