Job Title: Manufacturing Technician IJob Description

This position involves a production role in consumables, kit, or reagent manufacturing. You will be responsible for meeting production schedules in a fast-paced, high throughput industrial setting. This may include the production of coated plates, chemical buffers, biological diluents/reagents, and/or assembled kits for customer order fulfillment. The role allows for some degree of professional latitude, creativity, and self-management.

Responsibilities

Operate automated equipment used to perform and produce biological assays and/or reagents.

Contribute to process improvement, assay, and process development for manufacturing.

Complete appropriate documentation to support process and production procedures including data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch records.

Perform daily maintenance and documentation of all production equipment.

Participate in general laboratory maintenance including maintaining laboratory cleanliness, supplies, and equipment.

Maintain physical inventory by processing/aliquotting/vialing/labeling materials.

Prepare, maintain, and report raw material, reagent, and/or coated plate inventories.

Participate in year-end physical inventory.

Follow laboratory safety precautions and use personal protective equipment.

May manufacture custom and/or proto@type requests for customers.

May occasionally handle BSL2 reagents.

Specific duties may vary depending on departmental requirements.

Essential Skills

Experience with production and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in using pipettes and performing pipetting techniques.

Knowledge of biological assays and reagents.

Understanding of buffers and chemical solutions.

Strong documentation skills, including data capture and inventory management.

Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.

Adherence to laboratory safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School diploma required.

Associates or BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Demonstrated experience in operations coordination and inventory control required.

Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a lab-based manufacturing environment. Shifts are designed to provide an extended day without traditional shift work. Opening shifts start at 5am and 7am with lunch at 10am and 11am, respectively. The closing shift starts at 8am with lunch at 12pm. Fully trained employees may have a 5am shift for the entire week, while others may have a mix of 7am and 8am shifts. Schedules are uploaded weekly, and requests for time off are accommodated if made in advance. Initial schedules for new hires will be determined in the first week of production.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.63/hr.
