Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Wilton Manors, Florida. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates eager to develop their skills in accounting and administrative support. As part of a non-profit organization, the ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and respect for the organization's values while assisting with essential financial and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify purchase orders and invoices, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with organizational policies.

Assist with data entry tasks, including entering vendor invoices and reconciling accounts.

Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including receiving, sorting, and mailing checks.

Support the preparation and distribution of checks twice a week, ensuring timely payments.

Perform filing and record-keeping duties to maintain organized documentation.

Make routine calls to vendors and other stakeholders to resolve payment issues or gather information.

Conduct three-way matching for purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.

Generate reports and assist in tracking aged encumbrances and outstanding checks.

Provide backup support to the Finance Clerk and assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Collaborate with the accounts payable team to research vendor statements and follow up on payments. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

Willingness to learn fund accounting software and other systems used by the organization.

Ability to handle Level 2 background checks as required.

Comfortable working in an environment that aligns with the values of a Catholic entity.

Basic understanding of accounting concepts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
