Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description
The individual is responsible for maintaining the fee calculation process within the accounting system for the assigned functional area. This includes maintaining existing fee calculations, interpreting, understanding, creating, and posting new fee calculations, as well as reversing, closing down fees, and processing customer fee refunds where applicable. The individual must have the knowledge to manually calculate fees based on client agreements. The individual will participate in the onboarding of new accounts with other key departments to ensure smooth setup of new accounts. Other responsibilities may include preparation of fee reports, assisting in fee review and control processes, and providing general accounting support, including the preparation of journal entries and maintenance of supporting schedules with a focus on client billing and revenue management activities. As a member of the fee group, the successful candidate will also have opportunities to participate in assignments and special projects within the group as required.
Responsibilities
Meet daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly SLAs
Open and close fee terms in the Trust Accounting System
Manually calculate initial and final fees
Maintain fee terms within Excel/Fee Systems
Manually calculate fees outside of the Trust Accounting System
Create invoices within the Billing system
Support Administrators/Investment Officers on fee inquiries
Monitor daily bank statements and apply payments
Process customer fee refunds
Apply Fund Reimbursement Payments
Liaise with front office and other departments
Track, monitor, and respond to emails in a timely manner
Assist the Manager - Revenue Accounting with client billing and accounts receivable processes, including preparing and mailing client invoices, new account setup, resolution of client service issues, and questions related to billing
Manage the intercompany revenue and mutual fund revenue reconciliation and reporting processes
Assist the month-end closing processes, with responsibility for accruals, journal entries, and related schedules
Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with the preparation of the general ledger workpapers and balance sheet reconciliations
Provide internal and ad hoc reporting as needed
Represent the department on project teams established for implementing new accounts
Understand the purpose and nature of the new account, and the responsibilities of each party
Review and comment on Investment Management Agreements and other governing documentation
Document and maintain permanent file information for the department
Agree and document procedures for fee calculation and billings with clients
Track and apply fee rate adjustments to existing accounts
Assist in the creation of aged receivables, fee reports, and fee review/controls processes
Assist in various projects as needed
Provide timely and effective communication with other team members and managers, including status updates for assigned work
Consolidate supporting documents for audit
Create and upload manual journal entries where necessary
Support month-end process
Perform monthly/quarterly analysis on fee variance
Support payment dispute resolution
Support the audit preparation and document production process as needed
Assist with electronic filing and document retention processes

Work Environment
The position is 100% remote. The consultant must work East Coast hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The project requires consultants who are highly detail-oriented and accurate, as the work is critical. The company prefers overly qualified consultants who can be utilized in various capacities due to the project's significant emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
