100% FTE - 40 hours per week
Day Shift - UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 - 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
Required participation in team on call schedule DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b) PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the direction and priorities of the Manager by coordinating and overseeing the operational activities and NACC system maintenance, and ensuring standard services are meeting appropriate targets
Prioritizing and distributing the workload throughout the team, managing the day-to-day workflow, and reporting to the manager the status of NACC work assignments
Organizing the successful planning, design, implementation, and transition of systems and applications to support in research that further the mission of patient care, research, and teaching, providing a point of escalation for operational and other service issues
Identifying and proposing service management improvements
Providing advice, coaching, and mentorship to team on work techniques, best practices, and operational expertise
Serving as the manager's delegate to represent the team to customers, project managers, technical leadership, and organizational management
Leading and maintaining strong, long-lasting stakeholder relationships by developing a solid understanding of RIT and NACC software needs, current practices, pain points, and strategic initiatives,ensuring the timely and successful delivery of RIT software solutions according to stakeholder needs and objectives
identifying and reporting team metrics to management and leadership REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
6 years of experience must include the below:
6+ years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare or research IT setting
1+ years of experience with formal mentorship
Advanced experience and the ability to mentor a team of Engineers in at least 1 language from each of the following categories:- Object-oriented or web language (e.g., Java, C#, C++)- Web development language (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript, React, Angular)- Database query language (e.g., SQL, SPARQL)- Scripting or semi-object-oriented language (e.g., Python and Bash, Go)
4+ years of experience working with at least 1 of the following:- Cloud-native deployment and technologies- Container-based micro-service development (using Docker, Podman, and/or Kubernetes)- Experience working with and working knowledge of REST APIs
2+ years of experience in RESTful or streaming API development and deployment using C#, Java, or similar languages using modern IDEs, such as Visual Studio Code
6+ years of experience in formal application/software development (source code version control, validation/deployment/maintenance)
Advanced experience and the ability to lead large to enterprise level projects in a information technology environment involved in performing database queries, transforming data structures, and data analysis
Advanced experience and the ability to lead large enterprise level projects in clinical, biomedical, or public health research data management including experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, RxNorm, LOINC, CPT, etc.) ABOUT UW MEDICINE - WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHER
