THE POSITION

In this position you will be responsible for directing the inspection of materials and workmanship on construction improvement projects within Engineering District 12-0 involving multi-lane roadways and multi-span bridge structures encompassing interchanges and overpasses, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with approved construction plans, standards, specifications, and contract documents. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will serve as the Inspector-In-Charge on highway construction projects. Duties will entail managing complex and multiple construction projects from assignment to completion in a professional, timely, cost effective and safe manner. Additionally, you will resolve or provide support in resolving issues requiring coordination with municipalities, private property and/or businesses, emergency services, railroads, authorities, utilities, and other construction projects.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Five years of experience in construction inspection, three of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, and graduation from high school or equivalent certification or formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
