Wabtec US Rail, Inc. dba Wabtec Corporation seeks Lead Embedded Software Engineer in Erie, PA

Design, code and test locomotive system embedded application software, board support software, OS integration and FPGA code integration.

Engineer new product and technology development programs, working closely with design teams on new product updates and customer project fulfillment commitments.

Write code, test and release software.

Resolve software issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions.

Deliver software on time with quality.

Perform design and code reviews in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines.

Break down problems and estimate time for software development tasks.

Work cross-functionally with systems engineering, product management, simulation, verification, validation, and electronic hardware teams.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 2 years of related experience.

Additionally, position requires any amount of experience with all of the following:

product development, new product introduction (NPI), and project management in the industrial sector.

software architecture principles, embedded systems, device drivers and Matlab and Simulink.

designing and developing experience with embedded and real-time software systems including Linux, QNX, Greenhill, Mentor or Nucleus in C/C++, Python, Shell scripting, and Board Support Package.

Testing and debugging embedded software and firmware for locomotive based control software.

Linux, including system configuration and the kernel build process.

Telecommuting permitted.
