Responsible for all functions related to software engineering for Squarespaces payments domain, including: Write architectural designs for new features that document technical decisions, trade-offs, API design, and integrations. Code new features and bug fixes and write automated tests. Configure, implement, and operate CI/CD tooling for building and deploying software. Build, support, and maintain technical infrastructure, including compute, notification, and database resources, both on premise and in Google Cloud Platform. Collaborate with product managers, product designers, QA, other engineering teams, and third party vendors to align on technical solutions, prioritization, testing, and project planning. Train new hires and mentor teammates by conducting knowledge sharing sessions and regular 1:1s. Participate in design reviews of teammates and provide peer feedback. Write technical documentation and give presentations for knowledge sharing. Research, implement, and maintain improvements to the operational health and stability of Squarespaces payment services, including metrics, alerts, dashboards, and logging. Participate in a regular on call rotation to respond to critical alerts and failures which directly affects end users. Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field or foreign equivalent, followed by 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a software engineering occupation focused on backend development. Experience must include at least: 1. 2 years of experience building and maintaining backend systems in a production environment; 2. 2 years of experience with computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design; 3. 2 years of experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks; 4. 1 year of experience working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional stakeholders; 5. 1 year of experience with CI/CD pipelines, including QA, pre-production, and production; and 6. 1 year of experience working with databases such as Postgres, CockroachDB, MySQL. Telecommuting permitted. Position reports to employers HQ in New York, NY and must reside within normal commuting distance of HQ to facilitate office visits at least 3 days per week.
