Boat Repair Technician

(Miami, FL) Rogers Custom Marine

The Boat Repair Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various @types of boats, including powerboats, sailboats, and personal watercraft. Specific duties include:

Inspecting boats to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.

Repairing and maintaining boat engines (inboard and outboard), including routine services such as oil changes, tune-ups, and engine rebuilds.

Repairing and replacing damaged or worn-out boat parts, including propellers, steering systems, throttle controls, and fuel systems.

Conducting electrical repairs, including diagnosing and fixing wiring issues, battery replacements, lighting systems, and marine electronics.

Performing fiberglass and gelcoat repairs, including patching, sanding, and repainting damaged areas.

Installing and repairing boat plumbing systems, including bilge pumps, water systems, and sanitation systems.

Performing hull maintenance, such as cleaning, sanding, painting, and applying anti-fouling coatings.

Testing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure proper functioning.

Documenting repair work, including labor and parts used, and providing detailed reports to supervisors or clients.

Ensuring compliance with marine safety standards and environmental regulations.

Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and ensuring the workspace remains clean and organized."

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Associate's degree in Professional Technician .

Experience:

36 months (3 years) of employment experience .

Special Skills/Requirements:

Proficiency in Spanish language .

Skilled experience with 12v and 110v systems .

Knowledge with all outboard brands and hydraulic steering systems .

Studies as a professional technician are accepted for license/certification .
