QTEC Aerospace is seeking a WEB BASED SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

Responsible for configuration management, software, and web development, assisting the tools development and management lead and the IT teams

Responsible for understanding documented requirements, implementing solutions, and conducting unit tests for tools and code

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience; or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

IAT Level II Certification (Security+ or equivalent) at hire or within 40 days of start date

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and experience in configuration management, software, and web-based software development as well as user interface design

Experience with frameworks for building web applications, such as Angular or React

Ability to work with: Java, HTTP, JavaScript/JSON, CesiumJS open source, JavaScript library, WildFly/JBossAS application server

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed

Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Prior experience with DoD related tools and web development is a strong advantage

Experience with the following platforms and tools: PHP, Apache and IIS web servers, MySQL, Oracle, JavaScript, RHEL Linux, Eclipse and/or Java Beans, Sphinx, ClearQuest, Memcached

Experience with relational, graph, or document databases

Experience with TypeScript, Docker, Elasticsearch, Bootstrap, and Jira

Experience in DevOps / DevSecOps

Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD)

Experience configuring Jenkins builds

Experience with software security tools like HP Fortify and SonarQube

Experience with microservices, Swagger, and API definitions

Demonstrated use of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket)

The following Tool Qualifications: WAVE, Selenium, iSpace, Spring Boot, Istio/OpenShift/Kubernetes, Nginx, HashiCorp Vault, ArgoCD/FluxCD, Prometheus, Elastisearch, Terraform/OpenTofu

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

The below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Salary Range: $80,000 -- $146,000
