The Financial Operator is responsible for efficiently and accurately processing the day-to-day finance functions including customer transaction files, exception items, accounts payable, correspondent banking, investment portfolio, supplies, reconciliations, customer statements, prepaid and accrued expenses, and rates.

Outcomes and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

Process and research issues with customer transaction files including ACH, ATM, debit cards, iPay, cash letters, RDA, scanning/proof, and wires.

Research, process, and communicate with employee-owners regarding exception item processing for general ledger transactions, deposit account transactions, and insufficient transactions.

Perform correspondent banking functions including daily settlement of accounts, posting analysis charges, borrowing and/or investing overnight funds, and communicating with employee-owners regarding incoming transactions.

Perform accounts payable functions including processing of invoices and payments, maintaining vendor data, creating reports, producing tax data, and maintaining the software. Communicate with employee-owners to receive necessary data and to verify invoice validity. Research and communicate with vendors to receive necessary documentation and resolve issues.

Perform investment portfolio functions including processing principal and interest payments, entering transactions into multiple software programs, verifying transactions, preparing reports, and maintaining appropriate pledge levels for public fund accounts.

Order various @types of supplies and maintain inventory systems.

Reconcile various general ledger and internal demand deposit accounts.

Process customer statements and notices.

Process prepaid and accrued expenses, accounts receivable payments, ALM rates, and ComRates.

Perform DayEnd and extra DayEnd processing.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

No experience required, but related banking experience and/or training is preferred.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be a self-starter who can complete tasks with little-to-no supervision. Must demonstrate a team-first attitude and voluntarily answer phone calls, respond to emails, and complete variable tasks.

Reading and interpreting various documents and policies, writing reports, and communicating effectively and appropriately with colleagues and customers.

Strong fundamental mathematical skills and attention to detail.

Problem solving and troubleshooting practical problems.

Ability to learn new tools, software, and equipment at a fast pace.
