Account Executive -- Cybersecurity (Midwest)

Location: Midwest U.S. (Remote, regional travel required)

Territory: Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota

Reports to: Founder / Head of Sales

About the Role

We are hiring a

region-focused Account Executive to own and close cybersecurity opportunities across the Midwest.

This is not a high-volume outbound role

You will work qualified opportunities generated through referrals, industry events, and existing customer relationships

, and you will run deals end-to-end --- from first conversation through close.

This role is designed for a salesperson who understands

manufacturing, engineering, and industrial environments, values long-term relationships, and knows how to move complex deals forward without noise or bureaucracy.

What You'll Do

Own and close qualified inbound, referral, and event-driven opportunities

Run full-cycle sales: discovery ? demo ? POC ? proposal ? close

Quickly qualify or disqualify opportunities to keep pipeline clean

Build trusted relationships with IT Directors, Security Directors, CISOs, and Operations leaders

Coordinate with vendor pre-sales teams for technical demos and POCs

Attend and leverage regional trade shows, industry events, and meetups

Maintain a

lean CRM (next step, close date, forecast --- nothing more)

Nurture longer-cycle opportunities without clogging the active pipeline

Represent the company with professionalism, urgency, and care before and after the sale

What This Role Is Not

Not a cold-call or mass-email role

Not an SDR-style activity quota position

Not a heavy reporting or CRM admin job

Not a "spray and pray" sales environment

Your success is measured by pipeline quality, closed revenue, and customer trust

Who You Are

5+ years of B2B sales experience

Experience selling into manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or technical environments

Comfortable selling to both technical and executive stakeholders

Strong discovery and qualification discipline

Confident running complex sales cycles independently

Relationship-driven, curious, and accountable

Comfortable traveling regionally for customer meetings and events

Nice to Have

Cybersecurity product or services experience

Experience selling assessments, penetration testing, or monitoring solutions

Existing Midwest manufacturing or engineering network

Experience generating opportunities through events or referrals
