PET/CT Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, responsible for performing all Nuclear Medicine patient care services. In addition, they ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office, and clinical staff.This role requires working in a clinical setting with the team in a collaborative workflow model.

Primary Responsibilities: The PET/CT Technologist operates computed tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

Prepare and transmit images to the radiologist for read and report results to providers

Retrieve and archive radiographic reports
Review (accuracy check) and complete provider orders
Perform detailed and accurate data collection during clinical intake of patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history
Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, exam prep, etc.
Proper, concise, and complete EMR documentation and paper-based documentation for all assessments and procedures
Perform accurate PET/CT exam as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation safety precautions.
Reviews exam orders for scheduling and protocol accuracy
Ensures that information essential to daily operations is passed between the technologists, receptionists, radiologist on duty, and Lead/Managers
Prepares and administers contrast media and radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols and under the direction of the Radiologist
Assists patient on to examination table and adjusts positioning devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by Physician

Nuclear Medicine Technologist requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and hold an active CNMT or ARRT(N) Certification
Documented training and experience in CT. ARRT registered (RT) and radiography (R) and/or computed tomography (CT) certified and/or NMTCB registered (CNMT)
Detailed knowledge of PET and CT equipment protocols
