REQUIRED:Project Engineer, Manufacturingfor Linamar North Carolina, Inc. (Arden location) who will play an integral part in the corporations product engineering group by fully understanding the development, manufacturing and application life of a program attendant with new products and technologies that are developed

Duties and responsibilities:

Overseeing engineering projects starting from project origination and carrying through to the testing phase.

Planning, coordinating and directing new projects or processes while ensuring that organization standards, procedures and work processes are followed.

Ensuring quality and consistency of all projects and the full compliance with all codes, standards and regulations and client requirements

Working in collaboration with manufacturing and quality engineering staff to recognize and resolve tooling related difficulties with existing and new projects

Researching latest technologies and applying to current processes to improve product quality

Establishing effective plant layouts in coordination with plant maintenance and improving operator ergonomics.

Identifying opportunities for manufacturing process improvement, creating detailed project plans and executing to achieve quality goals.

Using technical drawings from customer, developing a project plan with cross-functional teams' initial machine process items required to achieve desired result for product quality and cost

Documenting manufacturing process steps, creation of visual aids, change management while maintaining records for operator training

Monitoring process parameters and coordinating with process engineering to adjust CNC programs as needed.

Identifying cutting tool change over frequency and observations made versus expected results seen during product development

Assisting indeveloping quality inspection plans, collection of variable and attribute data, performing statistical analysis using software, inspecting review results of statistical analysis and determining interactions between features and corrective action to be made to achieve desired quality level within cycle time limits while ensuring part to part variation is within control limits.

Assisting in creating sample test plans to fine tune manufacturing process - being responsible for establishing work center Key Performance Indicators for the entire process and consistently meeting customer demand by optimizing machining cycle times and driving continuous improvement to reduce overall production cost.

Using the data generated during testing and in process inspection such as gage check, performing house check and CMM checks to identify process / part variables requiring adjustment with a view toward reducing defect levels and improving quality.

Conducting Design of Experiments (DOE) on key process parameters to determine significant sources of influence.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelors in Engineering Technology or equivalent.

A minimum of four (4) year experience as a process or manufacturing engineer in a high-volume machining or manufacturing environment.

Must have experience with SPC methods, process and machine capability requirements, blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Working knowledge of APQP and PPAP process.

Practical knowledge of cutting tools, machining processes, materials and equipment.

Experience with the use of statistical analysis for machine and process capability studies.

Experience in proposing layouts of new equipment with core teams and their managers to ensure the requirements for all departments are considered.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in all applicable software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office including Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Ability to write monthly reports that address a varietyof operational matters to present to.
