Compensation for the Accounting Specialist

$26 -- $30 Per Hour DOE

Monday -- Friday, 8 am -- 5 pm or 7 am -- 4 pm

Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist

Process vendor invoices in compliance with company policies and approval thresholds, including accurate invoice review, verification, and three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices

Maintain vendor records, manage new supplier setups and changes, collect W-9 documentation, and resolve vendor statement discrepancies

Prepare and process scheduled payments via check, ACH, and wire transfers

Collect and review corporate credit card documentation and prepare related monthly journal entries

Support year-end 1099 reporting and compliance

Prepare and distribute customer invoices through required billing channels and assist with applying customer payments (check, ACH, credit card, and lockbox)

Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, assist with collection efforts, and research and resolve customer billing inquiries

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records

Prepare payroll-related journal entries and coordinate with HR on payroll processing as needed

Monitor workers' compensation classifications and assist with multi-state payroll tax notifications and compliance requirements

Perform AP, AR, and general ledger reconciliations and review accounts for proper classification

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and support month-end close processes under strict deadlines

Monitor prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, and unclaimed property reporting

Assist with ERP testing, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives

Ensure vendor and customer verification processes comply with corporate policies

Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations and assisting with audit testing

Requirements of the Accounting Specialist

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, and/or equivalent relevant experience required

Minimum 2 years related accounting experience as your primary position

Experience with ERP and financial systems preferred (e.g., Epicor, Ceridian Dayforce, Concur, SharePoint)

Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suites

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
