Role Overview:

The Front Counter Inside Sales position provides front line customer service and sales support at point of sale, processing transactions, recommending products, maintaining product knowledge and providing excellent customer service in an industrial supply environment.

Education & Experience Requirements:**

Required: Valid Driver's License

Required: High School or equivalent

Required: Previous retail experience, or inside sales

Preferred: Experience in welding, welding processes, and industrial supply

Key Responsibilities and other Duties:

Greet and assist customers, answer incoming phone calls, and respond to customer inquires

Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate supplies, gases, safety equipment

Be informative about products, promotions, and maintain advanced product knowledge

Upsell and cross-sell products to increase average transaction value

Process sales order, quotes, returns, and exchanges accurately

Ensure accuracy of daily cash drawer

Maintain working knowledge of welding machines, consumables, industrial gases, and safety products

Assist in setting up promotional displays or rearranging merchandise

Assist with stocking shelves and organization, monitor inventory levels

Occasionally perform local errands such as bank deposits or picking up parts as needed

Keep front counter area clean and organized

Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

Physical Demands:**

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

This role requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects, as well as perform keyboarding tasks. Climbing stairs is required. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

Work conditions may include exposure to dust, extreme weather conditions, and cryogenic liquids and gases. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties.

Work Hours and Enviroment:**

This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The work environment is a dynamic retail setting with continuous customer interaction.

Pay Rate: $16.5-$18/hr

Employment with Gallup Welder Supply is on an at-will basis.
