Cimarron is seeking a senior-level Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

Key Duties:

Perform systems engineering activities across the full system life cycle, including requirements analysis, scheduling, documentation, traceability matrix development, design (preliminary, critical, and detailed), testing and evaluation, system verification and validation, research and development, implementation, fielding, sustainment, and operations.

Scope and execute trade studies, requirements definition, system architecture design (preliminary and detailed), and system development for Enterprise Services.

Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in Agile delivery practices, including capturing and decomposing work into Epics, Stories, and Tasks.

Support Team Leads by maintaining alignment across infrastructure, networks, integration, logistics, cybersecurity, and physical security protection plans, and cost and schedule estimates for system development, fielding, testing, and operations.

Collaborate with engineering leaders to apply process engineering principles and drive continuous improvement in non-manufacturing engineering processes.

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including senior government customers and stakeholders.

Provide program status updates and leadership briefings while fostering effective communication and collaboration across teams.

Apply interpersonal skills to resolve both technical and organizational conflicts in a team environment.

Perform other assigned duties as needed to support international program requirements.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.

Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance in a reasonable amount of time.

9 or more years of directly related experience.

3 or more years of experience in a management or leadership position.

Understanding of Agile team management concepts, practices, and methods, with training or education in Agile delivery.

Expertise in systems engineering processes, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, tools, and engineering documentation management.

Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, Linux and Windows systems, virtualization, data storage management, system life cycle, and change management.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio (or other CAD applications), and Agile workflow tools such as Microsoft Planner, Jira, Asana, or Trello.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

STEM degree from an accredited college.

Experience leading teams in support of Missile Defense Agency Continuous Test and Training Operations (CTTO).

Documented experience developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products for major space and IT systems.

Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition, with knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation.

Familiarity with the C2BMC system and other Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems.

Experience mentoring junior employees to drive value creation and continuous performance improvement.
