POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the YMCA's mission by bridging the gap between digital outreach and real-life member and staff experiences. This hybrid position blends internal and external communications with direct, on-the-ground support for program directors. Responsibilities include managing digital marketing efforts---such as social media, website updates, and promotional content---while also engaging with members and staff to ensure consistent, clear, and impactful messaging. The Marketing Coordinator helps elevate the Y's visibility, culture, and efficiency by ensuring communications are timely, accurate, and engaging, allowing program staff to focus on innovation and program quality. In addition, this role contributes to a positive staff experience by strengthening internal communication, fostering collaboration, and supporting a connected, informed, and motivated team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative, with a flexible schedule and a strong commitment to member service, staff experience, and team success.

JOB DETAILS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create, schedule, and post engaging social media content across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok etc.)

Regularly review and update the YMCA website and other platforms with up-to-date program information, schedules, and registration links

Assist in the creation and timely distribution of digital newsletters, including E-news, Senior News, parent communications for sports and programs, and family program updates.

Support fundraising by creating timely, engaging communications to promote campaigns, donor engagement, and community support.

Capture photos, video, and member stories to highlight YMCA impact

Support member appreciation and feature efforts (e.g., giveaways, recognition posts, lobby events)

Contribute to staff communication efforts through videos, social media, onboarding/training content, and events aiming to increase effectiveness and engagement.

Assist program directors with communication and promotional needs

Help coordinate lobby displays, registration tables, and events to engage our community

Provide on-the-ground visibility during programs and events to collect content

Assist with email drafts, sign-up sheets, surveys, basic reporting and post program surveys that align with Y branding

This position will work both at a desk and in the field (on the fitness floor, in the gym, at events)

Flexibility with work schedule will be required with some early morning, evening or weekend availability to cover events or promotions

Lead by example and promote the mission and core values of the YMCA on a daily basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfort interacting with members of
