Job Overview

We are seeking a Motor Evaluation Technician to test, inspect, and troubleshoot motors and related industrial equipment. You will use mechanical and electrical documentation, precision instruments, and engineering test methods to identify performance issues and support reliable equipment operation. This hands-on role suits someone with strong mechanical knowledge, careful measurement skills, and an interest in practical engineering problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Conduct engineering testing, mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, and maintenance on motors and industrial equipment.

Interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and other schematics to guide inspection, assembly, and repair.

Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments; perform mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, soldering, and welding as needed.

Apply root cause analysis to document findings and support engineering troubleshooting and mechanical design improvements.

Coordinate project scheduling and communicate test results using Microsoft Office and, where applicable, LabVIEW and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Your impact: Accurate evaluation helps engineering and manufacturing teams resolve equipment issues and improve reliability for equipment users.

Experience

Demonstrated mechanical knowledge, technical proficiency, and experience with industrial mechanic work, manufacturing, or industrial equipment troubleshooting.

Ability to read mechanical and electrical documentation and apply mechanical blueprint interpretation, mechanical drafting, and fabrication skills.

Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo; experience with CNC (computer numerical control) equipment is useful.

Knowledge of mechanical engineering, mechanical design, math, GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing), and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes and standards is beneficial.

Experience with engineering testing, assembly, maintenance, equipment repair, and mechanical troubleshooting is valued.
