Join Our Team at Brazos Electric as a Supervisor in Substation Design

At Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, we are committed to providing reliable, affordable power to our 16 Member cooperatives across Texas.

Brazos Electric Power Cooperative is looking for a driven and experienced Supervisor - Substation Design to lead a team of engineers and technical staff in designing and executing substation projects that are critical to our bulk electric transmission system. This role offers the unique opportunity to influence major infrastructure projects while mentoring talent and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.

What Youll Do:

Lead with Impact: Direct and guide a team of engineers, drafters, and engineering technicians in the design and development of substation and switching station facilities.

Design for Excellence: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for substation engineering design, overseeing everything from system studies to sealed design drawings.

Manage Projects: Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, members, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Drive Innovation: Plan system improvements, analyze performance, and implement cutting-edge substation designs that meet evolving reliability and regulatory standards.

Develop Talent: Mentor and develop technical staff, coordinate training, and promote a culture of safety, excellence, and accountability.

What Youll Bring:

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university.

Engineering degrees in other disciplines with previous direct experience in substation Engineering, Design and Project Management will be considered.

Seven (7) years engineering experience with 2 years as a Substation Project Engineer preferred

Previous experience leading personnel in design, engineering, and project management preferred
