Borusan Pipe U.S., Inc. (Baytown, Texas) is currently hiring aOperations Engineer (..).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze daily production data, daily production operations of the Slitter and the Pipe Mill and work with all related teams to maintain/improve production. Determine the most cost-effective methods of processing while improving yield, cycle times, reducing downtime and scrap and driving improvements to ensure overall pipe quality (first pass yield). Apply specialized knowledge of SRM Pipe production principles, practices, and procedures for production and problem solving. Effectively manage the productivity through mistake proofing, process monitoring and visualization, and conduct data analysis to improve production processes. Continuously monitor Plant KPIs to ensure balanced operation rates and optimum operations. Champion continuous improvement projects to maximize yield, capacity, and productivity. Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment to ensure quality production and productivity. Perform time studies and value stream mapping to improve cycle times for setup/changeovers and identify bottlenecks. Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance. Support to meet production schedule, quality and cost expectations. Write and modify SOPs for safe and effective equipment operation.

Experience and Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field plus completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or 6 months of experience involving the following: Production operations and process improvement; Design engineering using Microsoft Office, Auto CAD and Inventor and/or similar 3D Design Programs; and Lean/6 Sigma Production Methodology, time studies and 5S for value stream mapping.
