Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Remote

Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing, modernizing, and scaling the company's core platform. This role is heavily focused on updating and improving existing systems, so experience working with legacy codebases, refactoring, and upgrading libraries is essential.

You'll collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions, mentor junior engineers, and help drive engineering best practices. The team is also beginning to integrate AI/ML capabilities into the platform, making curiosity or experience in this space highly valuable.

We're seeking a full-stack engineer with strong Python and React expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver large-scale features, enhancements, and bug fixes

Maintain, refactor, and modernize legacy systems to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability

Upgrade and manage libraries, dependencies, and frameworks across the platform

Write and maintain unit tests to ensure strong test coverage

Improve code structure for long-term scalability and testability

Promote and uphold coding standards and best practices

Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (planning, design reviews, retrospectives)

Write and review technical design documentation

Mentor and support junior engineers in coding practices and system architecture

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and strategic goals

Implement integrations with third-party services and APIs

Contribute to architectural and process improvements across teams

Support the exploration and integration of AI/ML-driven features and capabilities

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Participate in technical interviews as needed

Required Qualifications

Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms)

7+ years of experience developing modern web applications

Expertise in Python

Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React

Experience working with legacy systems, including refactoring and modernization efforts

Strong experience upgrading and maintaining libraries and dependencies in production environments

Experience with MongoDB and/or SQL databases

Strong experience with Git version control

Proficiency with Docker (Kubernetes experience is a plus)

Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus

Exposure to or interest in AI/ML technologies and their application in web platforms

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

Strong system design and organizational abilities

Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments

Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Equivalent practical experience will also be considered
