Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain dry process semiconductor equipment, including plasma etchers, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) systems, and High-Density Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition (HDP CVD) equipment, to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Perform periodic preventive maintenance and calibration of critical components such as electrostatic chucks (ESC), gas delivery modules, and temperature control units; Analyze mechanical design and system drawings to identify causes of system malfunctions and propose design-level modifications for performance improvements; Lead improvement (CIP) projects for process equipment by implementing new modules such as advanced plasma sources, automated tilting/rotation heater aligners, and cooling systems to enhance throughput and uniformity; Review and update equipment specifications, fabrication standards, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and system configurations in accordance with company and customer requirements; Collaborate with U.S.-based engineers and manufacturing staff to support the local installation, commissioning, and validation of newly improved or modified systems; Train local technicians and junior engineers on equipment maintenance procedures, troubleshooting protocols, and safety standards; Serve as a technical liaison to the parent companys RandD department in Korea for technology transfer, design standardization, and performance benchmarking; Document all improvement and maintenance activities and contribute to knowledge base development to ensure equipment reliability and reduce operational risks;

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for dry process equipment based on performance data, failure trends, and manufacturer recommendations to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment lifespan;

Analyze root causes of recurring equipment issues using FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) or similar structured methods and propose actionable engineering solutions;

Provide technical input during the installation and ramp-up phases of new semiconductor tools, ensuring mechanical accuracy, alignment, and integration with fab infrastructure (e.g., vacuum, power, gas, cooling systems);

Participate in the localization and cost-reduction projects by modifying imported equipment designs and identifying alternative components without compromising performance or safety;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering and manufacturing, to align equipment modifications with production requirements and yield improvement targets;

Requirements:

Associates degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field; Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with semiconductor dry process equipment; Demonstrated experience in design, maintenance, and improvement of etchers, ALD, or CVD systems; Strong command of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and mechanical design principles; and Knowledge of root cause analysis, structured troubleshooting, and equipment optimization methodologies.
