About
With a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (NMD), a Master’s in Acupuncture (LAc), and over a decade of clinical and research experience, I am eager to bring my expertise in integrative health, patient-centered care, and biomedical research to support the VA’s mission of advancing veterans’ health and well-being. My background aligns closely with the responsibilities outlined in the job posting, including serving as a point of contact for consultation requests, applying federal policies and guidelines, and supporting research initiatives.
As the Medical Director at Empowered Healing Center (2018–Present), I lead clinical operations, develop integrative treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centered care. My experience includes 2,000+ clinical hours in integrative medicine, with specialties in infectious disease, addiction recovery, family medicine, and women’s health. This hands-on experience has honed my ability to analyze complex health data, apply evidence-based practices, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders—skills that are directly transferable to the Health Science Specialist role.
Before my clinical leadership role, I served as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist at multiple clinics, where I provided personalized care, educated patients on integrative health strategies, and collaborated with healthcare providers to optimize treatment outcomes. My earlier career as a Research Associate at Cedars-Sinai Research Institute and Amgen Inc. (2003–2007) further strengthened my ability to conduct biomedical research, analyze scientific data, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications. This research experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for rigorous data collection, policy compliance, and the translation of scientific findings into actionable insights—all of which are critical to the VA’s research and consultation programs.
What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to leverage my clinical, research, and leadership skills to support the VA’s PTSD Consultation Program and other initiatives. My ability to navigate complex federal guidelines, collaborate across disciplines, and prioritize compassionate, patient-centered care makes me a strong fit for this role. I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to serve as a resource for veterans and healthcare providers, ensuring they receive timely, evidence-based guidance to improve health outcomes.
The VA’s mission to serve those who have served our country resonates deeply with me, and I am eager to bring my analytical mindset, attention to detail, and dedication to public service to your team. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience can support the VA’s goals. Thank you for your time and consideration—I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your esteemed organization.
