UPS Work Description:
Daily activities included preparing and setting up of large steel metal cages for medium to large parcels, packages, and large bags of grouped letter mail for later delivery as well also positioning mid-sized mail carts around the distribution center floor to receive medium to small parcels/packages and letter mail for delivery later that afternoon for the mail carriers and drivers. My duties after setup were then to retrieve by use of floor jack large pallets of unsorted parcels/packages from the loading dock and bring them to the center of the distribution floor where I would use the scanner that was attached to my wrist that scanned each barcode on every parcel and then momentarily wait for the computer system to communicate audibly a letter and number code over the loud speaker system which would inform me to as to what specific large steel cage container or mid-size mail container from the several that I setup prior to scanning and sorting where each small-medium-large parcels/packages/and large bags of grouped letter mail should go for the mail later that afternoon that was done by the mail delivery drivers and mail carriers who delivered the mail by either POV or on foot. I would scan and sort from the time I finished setting up the cages and containers until the end of my 4 to 6 hour shift ending around 3 a.m. while maintaining a full time course schedule at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, I had left my position at UPS because I was receiving Basic Housing Allowances from my Montgomery GI bill and was blessed that given my living arrangements and my low monthly expenses it was not financially necessary for me to hold a job and taking classes. A situation that tragically impacts so many well deserving, overly talented, and good hearted-well intentioned-loving-selfless individual. NOT LIKE MY SELFISH SELF WHO POSSESSED NONE OF THOSE TRAITS AT THAT TIME AND FOR SO MANY MANNY YEARS LATER. Countless people Here and abroad in all its territorys such as in OCEANIA and have been denied access to high quality primary educational schools, allowed to participate and even further vote, or be allowed representation in public spaces, schools, and government and to participate which by way of these effects causes the COMPLETE ABSENCES of anyone being able to further educate themselves by attending high quality primary and secondary schools like University and be in a financially secure situation that was afforded to myself which gave me the opportunity to not be concerned worrying about housing, groceries, law enforcement, transportation, bills, and allowed me to focus and take seriously and absorb not be distracted by the previously mentioned financial mental stressors but too and more importantly all the stressors of life to include the social, familial problems and all the grandest and greater problems that derth advancement of all the varying spirtual, mental, physical, emotional, pyschogical growth that such as individuals dealing with systemic societal problems such as inequality, racism, hate, prejudice, that exclude so many individuals to having the same situation and opportunites I was afforded and would naturally keep that individual preoccupied, worried, stressed, fearful, depressed, angry, scared from reacting in retaliation to there oppressors and tormentors and keeps them rom consuming all the incredibly important and highly relevant aspects topics and information that I was grateful to be afforded and most upsettingly and sad aspect about it was only being afforded those universal privileges because only granted to me because of my participation in war services.

My name Adrian Rodriguez,
I was an Army Paratrooper Combat Veteran who was deployed 3 times, 2x Iraq & 1x Afghanistan while in service from 2003-2008. After my enlistment I pursued my ambitions and thirst for knowledge and wisdom and I graduated from Minneapolis Community and Technical College with a Associates degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Studies from The University of Minnesota. I have been blessed to have had the opportunities to have traveled to New Zealand for a environmental student project while in college , Ireland for vacation, Australia for Rest & Relaxation while in the service, and was able to do some light sightseeing while in Germany recovering from illness also while deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and as well as to Coahuila, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I also am grateful to have been able to have traveled to and lived in several different parts and regions within the United States such as, Manhattan, New York, Columbus, Ohio, Nashville, Tennessee, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Providence, Rhode Island, and San Antonio, Texas. It was through these travels and experiences and the various people I have encountered and had discussions with who came from every region of this diverse world who came with different views and perspectives of culture, politics, history, social stratification, privilege, ethnicity , religious affiliation , ideas of class, status and order to make me a more open and acceptable person to what I would say were “outside my world” ideas and ways of life. Such as in business, health, nutrition, education, government, religion, education, social demands and pressures , environmental affairs and to a further extent of personal happiness, emotional intelligence, wants, needs and desires. This skill, universal acceptance and respect for other cultures and ethnicities has helped me become more intuned and makes me able to remove myself and my thoughts from my own personal cultural, educational and social identity from most given situations and I am able to sensualize myself in the place of the “other” and understand why, what, where, their attitude of distrust and or contention of disagreement might come from when they are in disagreement with groups, organizations , situation or peoples and communities of different backgrounds and cultures . After internalizing, listening, ,feeling, respecting, and understanding the why, what, where. I then offer suggestions and a compromise may arise that is respectful for all the people who are involved.
This is why I believe I could am a valuable asset to my future employer. I am also vey knowledgeable and apply and employ all the worldly skills of education, rationales, and philosophies I was taught, studied, witnessed, and experienced in academic disciplines such as psychology, physics, sociology, history, economics, mathematics, nutrition, medicine, philosophy, anthropology, earth sciences, science, religion, principles of governance, law, leadership, and cultural diversity and appreciation to help me formulate, develop, and purpose solutions to a wide array of diverse, challenging and historically layered problems and issues all governments, societies, institutions and businesses public and private must confront in today’s interconnected globalized society.
