We are looking for a detail-oriented, focused, and flexible professional to join our Purchasing team. This team is a crucial link in our sales life cycle, bringing life to the agreements we have worked to attain. The primary responsibility of the Purchasing Assistant is to review contracts, place vendor orders, maintain positive relationships and provide great customer support to our customers. This is a fast-paced environment with high-volume email traffic, requiring a high level of focus, time management and organization. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Maintain excellent external and internal customer service

Assist with all aspects of the Purchasing department:

Review contracts

Place vendor orders

Maintain recordkeeping system for the department

RMAs

Ensure information flows in a timely and accurate manner:
Track orders from placement to delivery

Maintain status accurately within internal system and external portals

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong attention to detail

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies

Ability to @type 50+ words per minute

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with fundamental bookkeeping procedures

Proficiency in mathematics and the ability to spot numerical errors

Excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to manage time and efficiently organize work

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least two years of office experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform essential job functions in an office environment

Ability to sit for extended periods and intermittently stand, walk, bend, and reach as required to perform job duties

Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers

Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds

Ability to communicate effectively in person and through electronic and telephonic means
