QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience

Knowledge of operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, welding and safety procedures, road construction and concrete

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effectively and appropriately communicate; understand and comply with laws, regulations, policy and directives; and interact effectively and appropriately with public and employees

Maintain a valid Montana Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of employment

Occupational certification for heavy equipment operation and other endorsements as mandated by law and/or policy

Occupational certification as a forklift/loader operator, flagger and motor grader operator as awarded by the Montana Local Technical Assistance Program

Ability to use hand-tools

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Operate heavy equipment

Plow snow and sand icy roads

Blade roads

Haul gravel, scoria, and other materials and equipment to jobsites

Change water channels

Install culverts, car gates and cattle guards

Operate rollers to prepare road beds

Install and maintain bridge markers and street signs

Build concrete retaining walls

Fill washouts

Mow road shoulders

Make minor repairs to equipment

Full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week in Glendive.

Pay is $21.59 per hour. Benefit package includes: health insurance, optional vision/dental, life insurance, sick leave, vacation leave, paid holidays and Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) with matching contribution.
