Nature of work:

Responsible for technical and administrative work assisting with the coordination of the HUD-VASH Program in accordance with HUD regulations and guidelines for the Housing Authority of Myrtle Beach. Activities associated with the job include assisting with executing and maintaining leases and contracts between property owners and residents, calculating rents, conducting annual and interim interviews with clients and assisting with the coordination of monthly payments to property owners.

Focuses on managing the daily administration of HUD-VASH vouchers, coordinating directly with the local VA Medical Center to transition homeless veterans into permanent housing.

Additional responsibilities include processing rent reasonableness studies and assisting with the electronic transmission of various HUD required reports and data. Job performance is evaluated by the review of the accuracy and timeliness of required reports and financial transactions, organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills, knowledge of program rules and regulations and level of administrative and accounting support provided for the HUD-VASH Program. Job duties are also subject to annual independent and HUD audits.

Necessary requirements of work:

High School Diploma or GED with 2 years experience in social service field or property management field in an affordable housing environment and/or a 2 year degree in Human Service or related field.

Job responsibilities require strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills in dealing with diversity of professionals, clients and staff members, decision making skills, ability to work independently and as a team member, considerable knowledge of the HUD-VASH Program rules and regulations, strong accounting and mathematical skills and dedicated attention to detail. Experience working with individuals from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. Considerable knowledge of SC Landlord/Tenant Law; possession of a valid South Carolina Drivers license
