Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing excellent customer service and making them feel valued.

Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Maintain an organized waitlist, accurately estimating wait times and communicating updates clearly to guests.

Coordinate with the dining team to seat guests promptly and efficiently, optimizing table turnover.

Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant policies.

Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone and in person, demonstrating strong communication skills and phone etiquette.

Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host station area and adhering to health guidelines.

Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for reservation entries or guest inquiries when needed.

Assist with guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy hours.

Skills

Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting, with strong guest service skills.

Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.

Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction.

Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.

Knowledge of food safety practices and basic food service procedures.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.

Basic math skills for managing tables, bills, or reservation counts accurately.
