Salt hill Pub Shanty in Newbury is seeking to fill an Assistant general manager

The ideal candidate would have restaurant experience in all facets of the restaurant, exhibiting leadership through excellent communication skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills, attention to detail - but most important is the attitude and ability to learn. We would consider Part-time manager employment as well, with similar expectations for multiple function work.

The year-round family restaurant in its 12^th^ year encompasses a team approach, so the position requires some nights and weekends, and would entail multiple job functions including

cooking, serving, bartending and managing shifts.

The full-time position offers health insurance, quarterly bonus plan, PTO, meal benefits, 401K.

The Assistant General Manager (AGM)

is responsible for implementing workflow procedures based on the direction from the General Manager and or Owners. For example, Ideas for better operations, changes to team members side work, Troubleshoot POS/ any system malfunction while on site/shift, make executive decisions and provide team member accountability, changes in scheduling, retail inventory, and any assistance the General manager may require. Complete the line of succession periodically being the first line of defense

filling in for General Manager (GM) or other positions of need cooking, serving, bartending.

They will work in conjunction with the Kitchen and Bar managers to assist in the overall flow of all departments in the Pub. Their duties include supervising team members during day-to-day tasks and through shift reviews, providing customer support in situations requiring a manager that may

address employee and customer concerns

help to continue to create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment. Lastly assisting the (GM) in managing the overall workflow of the Pub.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal communication, and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively.

Strong leadership and initiative.

People person, able to provide excellent customer service from any position in the Pub.

Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Understand Toast as the POS system we use.

Strong attention to detail and able to multitask. Able to delegate side work and cleaning procedures for all staff FOH and BOH.

Confident, proactive and willing to take on fast pace challenges throughout the Pub.
