Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for an Onsite position with a Leading Technology Firm located in New York, NY. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. At the forefront of new computing and human input technologies, this role requires a Mechanical Engineer with experience in rapid prototyping, fixture development, and mechanical testing. The ideal candidate will have the curiosity to research and investigate the design and functionality of a new class of wearable technology. In this role, you will proto@type and rework design concepts, generate fixture designs, make engineering drawings, execute testing, and analyze results. Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test wearable devices with a focus on rapid prototyping and device rework/repair Design mechanical test fixtures and generate testing procedures Execute mechanical testing to characterize hardware using both standard and custom testing procedures Analyze test data against hardware specifications Assist on device failure analysis Provide 2D/3D of fixture and proto@type concepts Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability Team player and detail-oriented Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations Experience to model, build, test, and refine proto@types and characterization test systems Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) Experience with mechanical test and inspection equipment such as Instron, microscopes, OMM, temperature and humidity chambers Experience with prototyping equipment such as 3DP, laser cutter, heating elements, adhesives dispense/activation, soldering This role is 100% in-office and lab work Desired skills: NX CAD experience Pay range: up to $61.74 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) employees will be considered for this position.
