A restaurant server is the primary front-of-house point of contact between guests and the establishment. They guide the dining experience, ensure guest satisfaction, and facilitate communication between customers, the kitchen, and bar staff.

Core Responsibilities

Greeting & Guiding: Welcoming guests, seating them, presenting menus, and answering questions regarding ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.

Order Taking: Accurately recording food and beverage orders, noting any special dietary restrictions or allergies, and entering them into the Point of Sale system.

Serving: Delivering food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to the dining tables in a timely, organized, and professional manner.

Guest Check-ins: Periodically checking on diners to ensure meal satisfaction, refilling beverages, and promptly addressing any issues.

Table Maintenance: Clearing finished plates, silverware, and glassware, and resetting tables for future guests.

Billing & Payments: Preparing, presenting, and processing guest checks (cash, credit, and digital payments) via the POS system.

Essential Skills & Requirements

Customer Service: A welcoming, polite demeanor with a focus on delivering a high-quality, memorable guest experience.

Multitasking: The ability to handle multiple tables simultaneously and stay calm in a fast-paced, loud environment.

Communication: Clear, concise communication with both guests and coworkers to keep the restaurant running smoothly.

Product Knowledge: A strong familiarity with the food and wine menus in order to make personalized recommendations and upsell items.

Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods of time
