Job description:

A liquor store cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws while maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Additional salary can be made by delivering using company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist them in finding products, and provide information about various alcoholic beverages. Ensure a positive shopping experience by addressing customer inquiries and concerns.

Transaction Handling: Operate a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately. Handle cash, credit, and debit payments, and issue receipts.

Age Verification: Check customer identification to verify legal drinking age and ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding alcohol sales.

Inventory Management: Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain inventory levels. Assist in organizing displays and ensuring that products are easily accessible to customers.

Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean and organized, including the sales floor, checkout area, and restrooms. Perform regular cleaning tasks and ensure safety standards are met.

Loss Prevention: Monitor customer behavior to prevent theft and ensure a safe shopping environment. Report any suspicious activities to management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and handle difficult situations calmly.

Cash Handling Skills: Experience with cash registers and basic math skills to manage transactions accurately.

Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages: Familiarity with various @types of liquor, wine, and beer to assist customers in making informed choices.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 30 pounds), and perform tasks that require bending and walking.

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old to handle liquor sales, with some positions requiring a minimum age of 21.

Working Conditions

Shifts: May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on store hours and staffing needs.

Environment: Fast-paced retail environment with a focus on customer interaction and sales.
