Road Worker

A Township Road Worker safely maintains, repairs, and constructs local roads, drainage systems, and right-of-way's, operating heavy equipment and performing manual labor in all weather conditions while also maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key duties include snow removal, pothole patching, road clearing, sign installation, brush cutting, and equipment maintenance, often requiring on-call availability for emergencies. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and possess the ability to plan ahead for projects such as doing preventative maintenance on seasonal equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

[ ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}Road Maintenance & Repair:Patching asphalt, crack sealing, cleaning and repairing culverts, maintaining gravel shoulders, sweeping streets, and installing pavement markings.

[ ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}Winter Operations: Operating snowplows, dump trucks with salt spreaders, and blowers; removing ice and snow from roads and township facilities.

[ ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}Equipment Operation: Operating heavy and light equipment, including backhoes, loaders, graders, mowers, chippers, and tractors.

[ ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}Roadside Maintenance: Trimming trees, cutting brush, mowing, clearing debris from drainage ditches, and cleaning storm sewers.

Required Qualifications & Physical Demands:
