Programmer 3 -- State of Michigan Lansing, MI (Hybrid) $54.72/hr -- 1099 1-Year Contract with Potential Full-Time Conversion

MJB Recruiting is seeking an experienced Programmer 3 for a long-term State of Michigan engagement supporting enterprise web application development initiatives. This position requires a strong Microsoft web developer with expertise in ASP .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL Server, and Agile development methodologies.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Local candidates ONLY -- must reside within 1 hour of Lansing, MI at time of submission NO remote-only option Hybrid schedule required Required onsite days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays Must be onsite from Day 1 In-person interviews required Submission deadline: 5/26/26 at 10:00 AM EST Position expected to convert to full-time State employment within 1--2 years Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship at time of conversion

Required Experience: 8+ years of professional web application development experience Strong experience with:

ASP .NET

JavaScript

SQL Server

Object-Oriented Programming

Experience developing enterprise applications using Microsoft MVC 5 framework including Razor Experience working in Agile development environments Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Experience with Entity Framework ORM Experience with jQuery JavaScript framework Experience with unit testing methodologies

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications Develop and modify software solutions based on business and technical specifications Analyze application requirements and develop scalable technical solutions Develop applications utilizing ASP .NET, C#, MVC, JavaScript, and SQL Server Create and maintain technical documentation and application specifications Perform debugging, troubleshooting, testing, and code optimization Support production deployments and operational troubleshooting Work closely with business analysts, system analysts, and technical teams Participate in Agile/Scrum development activities Assist with system enhancements and modernization initiatives Mentor junior technical staff when needed

Preferred Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Experience with enterprise application architecture Experience integrating backend SQL Server systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within enterprise teams
