Truck Driver - CDL CLASS A

Position Summary

The primary duty of the Class A CDL Truck Driver is to transport FFandE (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) and Household Goods to and from designations in an efficient manner. Perform vehicle pre-maintenance checks and report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles before and after route. Must have a willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule and work the specific location. Expect to keep accurate records of HOS, etc. by using an ELD (Electronic Logging Device).

Essential Job Functions,

Cooperating with fellow colleagues and home office about scheduled trips runs and move information sheets.

Conduct pre-trip daily vehicle inspections (i.e. checking tires, oil level, and other fluid levels. etc.)

Dependable and reliable in performing the task assigned by supervisor or one of the management team

Driver is responsible for keeping their tractor and trailer clean and presentable for hauling. The driver is to notify his/her supervisor of any issues surrounding the performance or condition of the vehicle.

Any damages caused by negligence, or careless operation to the tractor and or trailer that a driver is using will be the sole responsibility of the that driver

Creating a good relationship with the customers, other drivers and vendors

Understanding the route of their move: calculate to preparation to deliver and/or pick up on time

Understanding the truck route and the way to find the fastest and safest route

Assist in the loading and unloading trucks

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

Check the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened

Able to carry out basic vehicle maintenance

Maintain cleanliness of all trucks and company equipment

Perform warehouse duties as needed

Perform other duties as assigned
