The Instructor in English/Speech will be responsible for teaching courses within the\ English-Communications Department. Courses will primarily be taught at Junction City\ High School for dual credit students, with additional courses taught at the Geary Campus\ as needed.

*\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ RESPONSIBILITIES\ The English/Speech Instructor will:\ discharge effectively and efficiently the duties and responsibilities as defined\ in the Master Contract;\ teach courses within the English/Speech Department including courses in\ composition, literature, and speech;\ develop and maintain course curricula that appropriately reflect current\ knowledge in the discipline;\ work with the division and department in the development of competencies\ for courses in the department and division;\ work with the division and department in the program review process;\

work with the division and department in the student outcome assessment\ process;\ work with the division and department on follow-up of graduates;\

participate in division, department, and faculty activities;\

complete syllabi each semester per Policy D10 Course Syllabi and\ Procedures;\ work with the Division Dean and Director of the Geary County Campus on\ the preparation of class schedules each semester;\ assist in the recruitment of students;\

incorporate technology into the curriculum and keep abreast of current\ technology in the field of English/Speech;\ provide mentoring support for off-campus instructors;\

work with other disciplines to develop interdisciplinary programs;\

attend and participate in commencement exercises in academic attire; and\ perform other duties as assigned by Vice-President for Academic Affairs or\ the Division Dean.
