Class A CDL Over-the-Road / Regional Driver

Gateway Distribution, LLC is hiring full-time Class A CDL Over-the-Road / Regional Drivers to join our team. We are looking for dependable, safety-minded drivers who take pride in their work, communicate well with dispatch, and want to be part of a company where drivers are known by name and treated with respect.

Gateway Distribution is a transportation and logistics company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our drivers haul primarily dry van freight, including flagpoles, light poles, and related materials. Many routes include multiple stops, customer deliveries, and some driver assist depending on the load.

Position Summary

The Class A CDL Over-the-Road / Regional Driver is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer, completing assigned routes, making timely deliveries, communicating with dispatch, completing required paperwork, and following all DOT, FMCSA, company, and customer safety requirements.

This position requires a professional driver who can work independently, manage time effectively, and represent Gateway in a positive and professional manner with customers, dispatch, and coworkers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle, including tractor-trailer equipment.

Transport freight over regional and/or over-the-road routes as assigned.

Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company requirements.

Follow all FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service rules, traffic laws, and company safety policies.

Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatch regarding load status, delays, delivery issues, equipment concerns, and scheduling.

Pick up and deliver freight in a timely and professional manner.

Secure freight as required and ensure loads are transported safely.

Complete bills of lading, delivery paperwork, logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately.

Use company technology and systems as required for communication, tracking, electronic logs, and trip documentation.

Maintain professional conduct with customers, vendors, dispatchers, warehouse/dock employees, and management.

Assist with freight handling when required by the load or customer.

Report maintenance issues, accidents, incidents, safety concerns, or violations immediately.

Maintain a clean and safe truck cab and follow company equipment standards.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.

Must meet DOT qualification requirements.

Must have a valid DOT medical card.

Must have an acceptable MVR and PSP report based on company standards.

Must be able to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.

Tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.

Over-the-road or regional driving experience preferred.

Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently.

Must be able to communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Must be able to complete paperwork and electronic documentation accurately.

Must be able to manage time, route expectations, and delivery schedules responsibly.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.

Ability to enter and exit tractor equipment safely.

Ability to inspect equipment, including walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and checking vehicle components.

Ability to secure freight as needed.
