Elderton State Bank is seeking applicants for the position of Customer Service Specialist at our branch office in Rural Valley, PA. Candidates must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Prior banking experience is preferred. Experience with CSI NuPoint, CSI New Account Console, and Finastra LaserPro is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized bank education and training.

Skills: Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact customer services; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services; lending authority; proficient PC skills; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in related positions normally required.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for providing a broad range of services to customers of the branch office; achieving customer service goals as established in the office's annual operating plan; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the customer service function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Essential Duties

Provides a broad range of services to customers of the branch office as follows:

Serves as an active member of the office customer service team; jointly establishes quantitative customer service and sales objectives, with the assigned supervisor, on an annual basis; this activity is to be integrated with the office's annual marketing/sales plan.

Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.

Makes "outside" sales and customer service calls on present and prospective customers within the office's market area.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Bank products and services to ascertain customer needs.

Provides direct service to customers of the Bank with respect to deposit and other miscellaneous products and services.

Completes the documentation on all @types of new deposit accounts.

Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other Bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.

Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth in Savings Act, etc.

Communicates with management and staff personnel to integrate goals and activities.

Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
