[Goal:]{.underline} The teacher shall prayerfully help students to learn attitudes, skill, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.

[Overview:]{.underline} The teacher shall be a college graduate who is either a certified teacher or is eligible to become one. They must be a Christian and feel called by God to the teacher profession.

[Supervises:]{.underline} Student teachers, aides, volunteers, students

[Evaluation:]{.underline} Teacher performance will be evaluated annually by the director.

[Required Personal Qualities:]{.underline}

Give witness to having received Christ as his/her personal Savior.

Believe that the Bible is the Word of God and is the only standard for faith and living.

Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's Biblical standard for sexual conduct.

Show by example the value of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ.

Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school's Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.

Have a spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to "train up a child in the way he should go." (Proverbs 22:6)

Uphold and follow all policies listed in the faculty handbook.

The teacher shall:

Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for the children's education and be prepared to assist them in that task.

Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.

Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy.

Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with clear articulation.

Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority.

Notify the administration of any policy he/she is unable to support.

Refuse to communicate confidential information inappropriately.

Place her/his teaching ministry ahead of other jobs and volunteer activities.

[Essential Functions]{.underline}

Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.

Motivate the students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them to grow in their faith.

Lead students to realize a sense of their self worth in Christ.

Cooperate with the board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.

Teach classes as assigned following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the director.

Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.

Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the premises for a good learning environment.

Maintain a clean and attractive classroom.

Plan broadly using semester and quarterly plans and objectives, and more currently through the use of a lesson plan book.

Plan a program of student that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
